Who is Jem?
There are so many tutors to choose from and it can be overwhelming. Aside from the logistics of times, days and location, which are important, there are other aspects to consider. For example, personality, communication and approach. So, how to select the right tutor for your child? Find someone your child likes, will communicate with and listen to as needed. I am not a stuffy or intense person. The 99% matriculation rate I have maintained for over a decade is based largely on my ability to build a rapport with my students, my knowledge of the Australian curriculum and my endearing humour. My best skill is putting people at ease. As a tutor, this is my superpower.
I am also a mother of two and understand how important our children’s education is to their futures. I have been a full time, dedicated English tutor for 15 years. Teaching hundreds and hundreds of students every year since 2010, my research and sourcing of practise materials is also key to my success.
My total students’ helped currently numbers around 700 and many still keep me updated on their progress in university and beyond. I can forge either long or short term tutoring relationships with parents and students depending on their preference. I remain available throughout the year as I continue to work during breaks and never go on holiday. Tutoring is not my side job, it has been my profession for over a decade and I take the teaching pedagogy seriously, as I do with the marks and progress of every single student.
